Plasma tv wall mount reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Sturdy, December 22, 2008
This is a well built arm. It is intended to be mounted to a wall (just find a stud) and then your smaller monitor/LCD TV mounted to it. The arms swing nicely right to left. The 'tilt' on the monitor bracket is very stiff - a good thing if you don't want your monitor looking at the sky or the ground after a few hours! Just remember, when hanging a monitor you still have to deal with cables and power. It comes with mounting hardware (Screws, offset sleeves, and more.). I recommend it. Peerless Wall Mount

Installing your flat screen tv wall mount

Do It Yourself Or Have It Installed?

The most important aspect of your flat panel purchase is who will be installing the TV. Most of the wall mounts on the market can be easily installed by a relatively handy adult. It is important to read all safety warnings and follow the manufacturer's instructions on which type of screws or bolts to use when installing the TV. It is always a good idea to anchor the TV to studs in the wall, as standard drywall or plaster can weaken over time and cause the TV to fall. If you have any reservations about installing the TV, you should consult a professional installer.

Cables, Wires & What To Do With Them

While installing your TV, you will quickly find a need for wire management on your wall mount. Nothing will ruin the appearance of your install quicker than loose wires hanging down. Some mounts offer channels in the body of the mount where the wires can be run neatly and hidden. While others simply offer clips on the outside of the frame to hold the wires in place. You should check to see if any wire management is included with any mount that you purchase.

The Bottom Line

Once you have determined which mounts will fit the size of your TV you can eliminate all the rest. Then consider the motion option that you think works best for your application and again eliminate the rest. Look at the wire management and ease of install variables to further narrow your choice. Finally, inspect the quality of construction, existence of UL listing and your choice should be complete.

For the largest range of lcd and plasma wall mounts, it's worth a look at the Peerless Wall Mount http://www.peerlesswallmount.com website as they are strong, stylish, highly functional and reasonably priced

Articulating TV Wall Mounts

Articulating/Cantilever
Like the swivel mount, this type of mount will typically protrude a few inches off the wall. The ability to pull out and pan the TV up to 180 degrees allows the TV to be viewed from 2 different adjoining rooms. Another use for this type of arm would be when installing the TV in an armoire or entertainment cabinet, the user could hide the TV inside when not in use and simply pull it out when it's time to watch TV.

Choosing An LCD TV Wall Mount

Low Profile Television Wall Mounts

Low profile mounts are extremely popular now because they keep your wires disguised very well and keep allow you to show off the sleekness of your flat screen by letting it sit tight up against the wall so that there is no obvious space between the television and the wall. I can highly advocate this mount. I particularly like this option if the television is mounted on a wall that is has no closed corners. Again, I must say that I highly endorse this mount. After all, you went and spent all that money on your ultra thin flat screen so you really should show it off!

Tilt Television Wall Mounts

If you are looking for a wall mount that is flat and offers some pliability the Tilting Wall Mount is also a good option to think about when choosing a wall bracket mounting system. The Tilt Wall Mount permits the Television to be mounted flush to the wall as well as being angled up ( or down if needed ) at not more than a 15 degree angle. The titling down of the Television will permit the Television to be mounted high on the wall whilst still being simply accessible for everyone's eyes regardless of where they are sitting in the room.

Swivel Television Wall Mounts

Swivel VESA wall mounts are some times called articulating mounts and are specially designed for folk looking to have the flexibility of moving the television so it can be viewed from different parts of a room. Some Swivel mounts can swing 180 degrees, which lets you doubtless swing the Television around a wall into another room. The down side of these Television wall mounts is that the stick out farther from the wall because they need the space for the three connecting arms to fold up. These are some of the most popular types of peerless wall mount that are sold.

Choosing the right TV wall mount..

Choosing the right flat screen tv wall mount

Choosing a wall mount for your television could be a little intimidating at first. However if you break it down the decision is a lot easier.

Firstly, you need to make sure that your television is VESA compatible. A quick peek at your owner's manual ought to give you the answer.

Second you need to make sure you buy a VESA television wall mount that is designed for the size of television you have. So if you've got a 42'' LCD or plasma then guarantee your mount supports that size.

Third and likely most vital is getting a VESA wall mount that supports the weight of your TV. This is particularly significant if you've a plasma television because they generally tend to be heavier.

Each has its advantages , which I will be explaining in my next post
